Wow. This really has been a big week for us here at vMix. We have a new website, and new domain name and now that’s all tied in with a new version release! vMix 16! It’s been less than 6 months since the last update, and here we are again with more huge upgrades for vMix. There are a lot of changes in vMix 16! We’ve compiled a list at the bottom of this post, but here are the biggest ones!
Head over to vMix.com to download vMix 16!
MIDI Controller Support
vMix 16 adds compatibility for MIDI controller devices. This means that you can program your midi device to perform functions within vMix. You can use this for all of your audio channel levels and you can program any of the buttons in the new vMix 16 shortcuts section to perform any function you need! This is a great way to add even more control to your vMix workflow.
ASIO Input and Output Devices Support
You can now connect ASIO devices to vMix and they will be fully supported!
Scripting support
The vMix 4K and PRO editions now include powerful programming capabilities through the Scripting feature. Click here to learn more about how to script for vMix using VB.NET and Web Scripting.
Streaming Inputs for Twitch, DaCast and StreamingChurch.tv
You can now stream directly from vMix to Twitch, DaCast and StreamingChurch.tv!
Very exciting news for us here at vMix. We’ve been able to secure the vmix.com domain name! Over the years we have used a few domain extensions and names including vmix.com.au and vmixhd.com and it’s always been a bit of problem. When doing interviews or when people write reviews of vMix inevitably they use vMix.com. Unfortunately that didn’t do much for us and people would end up on the wrong website!
Moving forward vmix.com will be used for all of our online information. So don’t forget to change your bookmarks to the new address! This includes the vMix Forums and of course the vMix Blog!
Well I’m off to get some new business cards made! Maybe something with raised lettering and subtle off-white colouring.
We’ve just updated the vMix website on our brand new domain name- vMix.com! New information and features have been added that we hope enhance people’s experience.
It’s a lot lighter than the old website. We’ve decided to move to a cleaner, brighter look as the last one was a little dark. On the front page we really wanted emphasise the different parts of vMix, the software and the hardware. Software now has it’s own menu with information about features and the uses of vMix. This menu also includes the Supported Hardware information.
We’ve included a Products menu that showcases all of our Hardware and System offerings. This showcases information about the vMix GO, Thunder and Control Surface.
New to the website is a Solutions section. We wanted to include ideas and examples of how people were using vMix. We have a couple of case studies in each area and will be looking to add more in the coming weeks.
The Purchase area remains much the same. Hopefully purchasing vMix is easier through the new website.
The new Partners section provides information about our various Streaming, Hardware, and Software Partners. It also lets you find vMix Resellers from all over the world.
Finally the vMix Support section includes links to the vMix Knowledge Base, vMix Forums, vMix Documentation, Support and vMix Training Videos. We’ll be doing our best to increase the number of training videos here!
