vMix at Streaming Media East 2015

This is the first year for vMix at Streaming Media East in New York City. Any reason is a good reason to go to NYC! Martin and Ken were on hand to man the booth at the New York Hilton.

We had a slightly smaller set up for the booth than NAB Show. The putting green was still on display so we were able to show off the Instant Replay system. Turns out there aren’t as many avid golf fans in Midtown New York as there are in Las Vegas. Who would’ve guessed?

Martin’s Discovery Track presentation “The Streaming Road Warrior: Overcoming the Challenges of Portable Live Production“ went well. He gave his performance a B but I would say it was at least an A-. It was a good opportunity to speak about how live production on the road has changed and how you’re able to do a lot more with a lot less these days.

vMix is still in the USA for a little while yet before venturing back home to continue work on vMix 16. Next stop is Orlando Florida to exhibit at INFOCOMM for the first time. vMix NAB Show 2015 Report.

Wow! What an NAB for vMix! We had twice the staff of last year and we were still extremely busy!

This is the third year for vMix at the NAB Show, but it was my first. This wasn’t my first time to a major trade show, but I’ve learned that nothing really compares to the NAB show! After hopping off my 18 hour journey from Australia I went to pick up my credentials for the show and check out our booth set up.

It may have been the lack of sleep, jet lag or sudden influx of caffeine, but I was instantly awed by the sheer size of Las Vegas Convention centre! I instantly regretted not buying a Fitbit and tracking my every centimetre. I have no doubt that it would have amassed well over 50km for the week! The booth was beginning to take shape on Saturday and by Sunday afternoon we were ready and raring to go.

vMix 15 is here!

What are the big changes for vMix 15?

Instant Replay! There is a new edition of vMix in the product line called vMix PRO. vMix PRO includes all of the features of vMix 4K plus the all new 4 channel instant replay with slow motion playback! For an introductory price of $1200USD you are able to do a full live production with 4 channel instant replay! Pardon the pun, but this is a real game changer for live sports on a budget! Now you can take your production out to sporting fields and have a full instant replay system at your fingertips for a fraction of the cost!

Streaming! We’ve added support for Ustream and Sunday Streams as streaming destinations. vMix now has improved FFMPEG streaming with support for infinite auto-reconnects in the event of internet outage. You’re also able to stream to THREE streaming destinations with easy to use 1,2 and 3 stream selection buttons.
